Charlotte Stewart: Charlotte R. Stewart is an AmeriCorps Alum and Triple Tar Heel, with degrees from UNC’s Schools of Arts & Sciences (B.A., 2003), Education (M.A., 2008) and Law (J.D., 2014). She has managed statewide pro bono initiatives serving military, veterans, small business owners and low-income inventors, and now works as a policy analyst in the field of affordable housing.
As a law student, Ms. Stewart performed over 500 hours of pro bono service on an array of projects focused on poverty law and civil rights. She designed a Voting Rights project to educate and register high school students. In 2012, she co-founded the Orange County Outreach Court, the state’s first specialty court for the homelessness. In 2013, she organized legal observing for Moral Monday protests and interned for a veterans law project.
She is vice-chair of the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness Leadership Team. She is secretary of the Dialectic and Philanthropic Societies Foundation, Inc. and is a founding member of the NC Bar Association’s Military & Veterans Law Section.
Her extensive party work includes canvassing, GOTV and fundraisers. After serving as secretary for Northside precinct, she is now precinct chair.
