Michael Parker: Michael Parker was elected to the serves Chapel Hill Town Council in 2015. He has also served on the town’s Planning Commission and its Transportation Advisory Board.
Before his election, Michael's career was working with and consulting to a variety of health care organizations. He has served nonprofit hospitals, academic medical centers, pharmaceutical companies and entrepreneurial biotechs.
He has a BA in biology from SUNY Buffalo and MBA in health care administration from Baruch College. He also attended graduate school in neurobiology at UNC-CH. Prior to coming to Chapel Hill, he was vice chair of the United Nations International School and president of CIDNY Independent Living Services, both in New York.
Parker lives in downtown Chapel Hill with his wife, Linda Prager, a ceramic artist, jewelry maker, and singer. He has a married daughter, Stephanie, who is an environmental journalist.
