OUR PARTY

Outreach

The Democratic Party, the party of the people, is committed to reaching out to neighbors in our rural and urban communities to lend a hand when needed.

Local Cleanup

Local democrats not only conduct voter registration drives, inform voters of dates for early voting and precinct polling places, canvass for democratic candidates, advocate for equal justice, push back against efforts to diminish voting rights for some, work for access to broadband in our rural areas, and work to ensure affordable housing.  They also get together, as did this group of dems, to clean up the Piney Mt. area.

Here’s what one resident wrote, “Thanks again to all who came out and cleaned up Piney Mountain this afternoon!  It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, not too hot.  Twelve intrepid souls braved the poison ivy, the bugs, and bicycling middle schoolers to come together and make our community a nicer place.  Go Democrats!” Gabriel Everhart

Aid to Afghan Refugees settling in the Triangle

From an impromptu call for winter clothing, household supplies, and hygiene products for Afghan refugees due to be relocated to our area, Democrats responded generously.  This shows their earliest donations.  Before the trucks came to transport what was collected, the Democratic Party office was full of boxes and bags of new or as-good-as-new essentials for the newest members of our community.
