Board of Education Runoff Election

Orange County will conduct a runoff election for the Orange County Board of Education contest on May 14, 2024. The candidates are Bonnie Hauser and Jennifer Moore. All voters, 18 and older, who reside in the Orange County School District, will be eligible to vote in the runoff election regardless of their registered party or unaffiliated status.

Early Voting

The early voting location will be Orange Works at Hillsborough Commons, 113 Mayo St, Hillsborough.

Same Day Voter Registration

Same day voter registration will be available during Early Voting for voters eligible to vote in the runoff election.

Absentee Voting

Registered voters may vote by mail using an absentee ballot. An absentee ballot may be requested through the Online Absentee Request Portal or by submitting a State Absentee Ballot Request Form to the Orange County Board of Elections. The deadline to request an Absentee Ballot is 5pm on May 7.

Completed absentee by mail ballots (returned by mail or in person) must be received in the Board of Elections offie by 7:30pm on May 14 in order to be eligible to be counted.

Photo ID Required

Voters are required to present Photo ID when voting in person. If a voter does not have a valid Photo ID card, one may be obtained from the Orange County Board of Elections. A list of acceptable Voter IDs can be found here.
If a voter does not have a Photo ID when they go to vote, they may vote in one of the following ways:

    • complete an ID Exception Form and vote with a provisional ballot, or
    • vote with a provisional ballot and return to the Orange County Board of Elections with their Photo ID by May 23.

Voters who vote by mail must include a photocopy of an acceptable ID when returning their ballot, or they may complete an ID Exception Form.
